WebID VideoID for secure identification via the WebID-Hub
The WebID Service "VideoID" uses the identification platform of WebID Solutions in Berlin to confirm the details of an online registration.
For cost reasons, this service is used as a follow-up procedure if the SCHUFA process, Open Banking or other VideoAutoident methods were not successful.
The transactions are billed through your contract with WebID.
After registration, the VideoID process begins. The VideoChat with face-to-face control takes place directly in the browser without the need to install a complex app in advance.
- Start the identification process on your website
- Transfer the customer to WebID
- Select WebID via VideoID as the ID procedure
- Enter personal data and upload a copy of the ID document
- VideoChat
- A WebID call centre agent guides the user securely through the VideoID process via webcam and checks the ID data.
- Provision of identification data
- The identification process is confirmed and completed by entering an SMS TAN.
As an alternative, WebID offers further identification methods in its ID-Hub.
Advantages:
- Compliant with the Money Laundering Act, the Telecommunications Act and the eIDAS Regulation
- Can be combined with WebID E-Signing using eID for legally binding digital signatures
- Flexible call centre capacities in several EU locations
Users must meet the following requirements for the VideoID procedure:
- Current web browser
- Stable internet connection
- Passport or ID card with holographic features
