Illinois Gaming Board members dropped by Waukegan as part of a three-city tour Wednesday, where an investment and development team tried to demonstrate why it has the best site for a new casino. Waukegan Gaming LLC is competing with six other companies seeking the state's 10th casino license. Rosemont, Des Plaines, Calumet City and Stickney are among the towns where the companies want to place casinos.
The gaming board of Chile - the Superintendencia de Casinos de Juego - has awarded the remaining three casino licenses to three separate operators. Two of the chosen companies are local Chilean operators Rantrur S.A. (Enjoy) and Casinos de Juego de Coyhaique S.A. (Fischer). The third license goes to Casinos Austria International. The largest project is the Enjoy casino in Castro, in the Los Lagos region.
Months before casino applicant Louis DeNaples received his casino license, the Pennsylvania State Police realized that DeNaples may have lied to gaming regulators - but kept it secret from regulators, the State Police acknowledged today. That decision meant that the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board was in the dark about the potential perjury when they voted in December 2006 to give DeNaples a license to open a USD 412 million Poconos slots parlor.
