Entrepreneur Paul Gauselmann visits Prague – MERKUR CASINO success in the Czech Republic

Espelkamp/Prague. The Gauselmann Group currently runs 40 entertainment centres overseas European countries, 14 alone in the Czech Republic. From these 14 MERKUR CASINOs four are located in the “Golden City” of Prague on the Moldau. Paul Gauselmann would not be the highly successful business man and owner of the worldwide operating concern if he did not have the flair to combine “business with pleasure”.

Paul Gauselmann in Prag As Paul and Karin Gauselmann boarded the cruise ship with their friends the Walberers, the last preparations for their visit to the Czech capital of Prague were underway in the office of the local national director there, Patrik Flaisinger.

For the entrepreneur who has been round the globe – most of the time by ship – both on business and for pleasure, this was the first visit to the Czech Republic’s capital. For National Director Patrik Flaisinger who has successfully executed the expansion strategy of the company, it was the first face-to-face meeting with his German employer.

The river cruise on the Elbe, which began in Potsdam and included many excursions on land in order to enable the exploration of German culture and history, ended after around a week in wonderful sunshine in Prague.

Together with Rolf Klug, Member of the Gauselmann Group Board and responsible for the MERKUR International segment, and Rolf Falke, CEO MERKUR CASINO, Paul Gauselmann visited his four locations in Prague and one in Mlada Boleslaw, 60 Kilometres away from Prague, where vehicles of ‘Skoda’ are produced. The MERKUR CASINO in Mlada Boleslaw is located in the direct vicinity of a popular fast-food chain and a large cinema complex.

The entrepreneur was not only enthusiastic about the location of his fantastically successful foreign entertainment centres, but especially about the modern conditions and development opportunities ready and awaiting a highly innovative concern such as the Gauselmann Group.

In addition, Paul Gauselmann, who himself has been Chairman of the VDAI (German Coin-Operated Machine Industry Association) and thus represented the interests of the German coin-operated machine industry for decades, congratulated national Director Patrik Flaisinger on being elected committee member of the Czech Coin-Operated Machine Industry Association. “The confidence thus shown by the country, its politics and economy”, said Paul Gauselmann, “will undoubtedly have a highly motivating effect on the further expansion activities of my concern!”

The MERKUR CASINOs in the Czech Republic differentiate themselves from their local and regional competitors from the outside by size and design, and orientate themselves by the German successful example – MERKUR-SPIELOTHEK. A uniform corporate design and professional marketing activities make it obvious that there is a huge resource of invaluable know-how as well as decades of market experience in the innovative leisure-time segment behind the Merkur sun. In addition to an offering of state-of-the-art AWPs with networked jackpot systems enhanced by a so-called roulette- and official Casino licences, the MERKUR CASINOs set themselves a cut above the rest through their highly trained, attentive and competent personnel. Food and beverages are also at a standard which set the entertainment centers apart.

In total, MERKUR CASINO employs well over 100 people in the Czech Republic. MERKUR CASINO is operated by MERKUR International. The Gauselmann Group employs more than 5,700 people worldwide and achieved a turnover of around €670 m during the last business year.
