Prague/Espelkamp – Customers can look forward to more than 50 playing positions and the highest quality service in the new Merkur Casino that opened its doors on 26th January in the Czech city of Prague. It is here that the pan-European operating arcade chain of the eastern Westphalian Gauselmann Group – Merkur Casino (itself a subsidiary of Merkur-Spielothek) – has opened a further modern Entertainment Centre in the trendy district of Zizkov near to the TV tower. Thus, the laughing Merkur sun is shining for the eighth time in the ‘Golden City’.

The new Merkur Casino offers customers pure gaming fun over an area of 500 m². The gaming offer particularly focuses on casino-like AWP’s, roulette and Video Lottery Terminals from Merkur Gaming (MLT). A professional team of seven caters for the well-known ‘Merkur-First-Class-Service’ that cares daily in classic non-stop operation for the guests.

A further Merkur sun is also shining in Ostrava – the city is situated in the tri-border area by Poland and Slovakia. Due to its central location it is one of the busiest economic and industrial regions in the country and the third largest city in the Czech Republic.

Approx. 470 m² of the premises of a former hotel have been successfully transformed for the new Merkur Casino that is situated in an ideal location in the middle of a popular pedestrian zone in the shopping centre of Ostrava. The state-of-the-art architectural design mirrors the remarkable façade design and so makes this Entertainment Centre a real eye-catcher.

Besides the first-class service offerings and the innovative interior design, guests of this Merkur Casino can choose from 56 extremely modern gaming machines, including 8 VLT’s from Merkur Gaming as well as an electronic roulette to ensure the highest possible entertainment fun.

A professional team that has been trained to international standards and consists of an arcade manager and six staff caters daily – almost 24 hours a day – for the well-being of the casino visitors.

The offical opening at the end of November was also a complete success and enticed guests from the whole city and the surrounding areas to the city of Ostrava.

The successful expansion will thus also be continued this year with the number of arcades in the whole country now reaching 24.
