Bomb threat leads to Casino evacuation

May 2, 2008: Norman – Riverwind Casino has been evacuated due to a bomb threat tonight, a McClain County emergency dispatcher confirmed.

Dispatchers for McClain County and the Lighthorse Police Department said authorities were on the scene, but they refused to provide further details.

The casino’s phone line rang unanswered tonight.

Television station KFOR-4 reported an announcement was made over the casino’s public address system asking patrons to leave the casino, and patrons were then asked to leave the property.

Katy Denny, a dispatcher for the Lighthorse Police of the Chickasaw Nation, says that agency is handling the incident but says she has been instructed to say no more about it, The Associated Press reported.
