Nevada reports revenue rise in September

Nevada’s casino reported USD 1.06 billion in win revenues for September, a rise of 7.5 per cent against the same period next year according to the state’s Gaming Control Board.

Resorts form the Las Vegas Strip was up nearly seven per cent, while downtown Las Vegas casinos showed a rise of 12.5 per cent.

Control Board analyst Frank Streshley said that tax from the state’s clubs amounted to USD 257.2 million for this fiscal year after taking into account September, adding that overall, it had been a good month.

Slots accounted for around USD 710 million of the total amount, while penny slots accounted for a win of USD 144.3 million, a rise of 28.6 per cent. Sports books won USD 44.9 million in the month, double the figure for 2006 while poker game win dropped just under one per cent to USD 12.5 million.
