Harrah’s incorporates to the Spanish Casino Association

Harrah’s Entertainment, which promotes the construction of Caesars Casino Castilla La Mancha, in Ciudad Real, incorporates to the Spanish Casino Association, after the approval of its integration in the General Assembly.

Harrah’s, international leader in casino operation, features more than 40 venues around the world. With 46,600 employees, the company quotes in the stock market and it had a turnover of 3,680 million euros and a net benefit of 294 million in 2004.

This information makes the US company a “referent in investments, operations and marketing, supported by an important international experience”, according to Heliodoro Giner, secretary of the Spanish Casino Association (AECJ). So Giner expects that “The arrival of the company to the association marks a turning point at this special moment.”

Harrah´s enters to the Spanish market with a 10% fiscal tax, which, according to Giner, “Is a magnificent achievement for the sector”. “Regulators may see for themselves how this fact has influence on investments and improvement projects to be made as well as in the quality of leisure offers. I’m sure this will make them think over and they will surely take the appropriate measures”.

Caesars Casino Castilla La Mancha is part of the project Reino de Don Quijote, an initiative with the participation of 14 public and private entities of the community, and features a capital of 128 million euros. The economic impact of the regional investment is calculated in 3,232 million euros until 2014.

The new leisure and entertaining complex will feature a hotel with 850 rooms, a convention center, a theatre with 3,500 seats and a spa area with gym, beauty center and swimming pools.
