Las Vegas Casino Implosion

The Bourbon Street Hotel and Casino will became a part of Las Vegas history early Tuesday morning when it was imploded.

It has stood on Flamingo for decades before the Bourbon Street casino was gutted and set for implosion. Nearby casinos and hotels said a sad goodbye but were anxious to see what may be in store for this prime real estate.

Implosions in Las Vegas are about as common as the neon. When one casino comes crashing down a better one takes its place. Rob Stillwell said, „Anytime something like that takes place it means there’s a brighter future for Las Vegas.“ That has Rob Stillwell with Boyd Gaming all smiles about the future site of the Bourbon Street casino.

„We’re really excited about it. It’s going to add some energy in and around that area. And, we’re anxious to see what the overall plan for what Harrah’s has for that area,“ Stillwell said.

Karen Davis said, „Something new always brings business down here to the Strip.“ Davis is the spokeswoman for the Westin and the thought of a future project next door has her seeing dollar signs for the Westin’s restaurants, bars and slots. „We’re excited to see what is coming and hopefully it will bring some new traffic to this end of the Strip.“

Harrah’s management is keeping a tight lid on what they plan to do with this prime site. But as owners of Las Vegas‘ most successful casinos, the future of this site can only get better.
