Wien (OTS) - Der Verband der europäischen Casino Betreiber (European Casino Association, ECA) hat beim jüngsten Board Meeting einen Katalog von Verhaltensregeln für lizensierte europäische Casinobetreiber verabschiedet. The European Commission today concluded that the different taxation regimes for online and land-based gambling operations in Denmark is compatible with European competition rules. According to the Commission, the law liberalising gambling in Denmark and applying lower taxes for online casinos (20 % on the GGR (GGR: gross gaming revenue : stakes minus winnings)) than for land-based casinos (75 % on the GGR) is acceptable because ”the positive effects of the liberalisation of the sector outweigh potential distortions of competition”.

The influential European Casino Association (ECA), a body which represents almost 1,000 casinos and around 80,000 employees across 23 countries, has given its unequivocal support to the new vision for January’s ICE show unveiled by organisers Clarion Events. The ECA’s Ron Goudsmit confirmed: “The new ICE vision has the ECA’s full backing and support.”
