The City Council of Maldonado will authorize, before the end of the year,the construction of a mega touristic Project with an investment of USD 430 million in Punta del Este, main Uruguayan seaside resort, at 130 kilometres East of Montevideo. Jorge Fernández, one of the businessmen connected to the Project, said it is “the most important investment in the country, after the one made by Finís company Botnia” in Fray Bentos.

The Seoul city government Monday unveiled a plan to expand three foreigners-only casinos in the nation's capital in a bid to attract more foreign tourists. The city administration will apply to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism for permission to extend the casinos as part of an effort to lure 12 million foreign tourists a year by 2010, city officials said. The three are currently located in the Sheraton Walkerhill Grande Hotel, Millennium Seoul Hilton Hotel and OakWood Premier Coex Center.

Chadron, Nebraska (AP) -- Police in Nebraska arrested five suspects Thursday in a South Dakota casino robbery, and officials say three of the men may have been involved in similar crimes in Montana and Wyoming. While police searched for the suspects, roads leading in and out of Chadron were blocked all morning Thursday, and snipers were positioned atop buildings at Chadron State College. The college, public schools and many businesses closed as the Chadron Police chief urged people to stay off the streets.
