The Kansas City area’s four riverboat casinos’ combined revenue and customer counts decreased in March compared with the same month last year, according to statistics of the Missouri Gaming Commission.

Only Argosy Casino in Riverside bested its year-ago figures. The Kansas City market as a whole reported March revenue of USD 65 million, down 3 percent from USD 66.9 million last year. The four casinos combined reported 913,020 customers, down 8 percent from 989,913 last year.

„Kansas City’s numbers are down, but St. Louis’ numbers are up nearly 10 percent due to the Lumiere opening,“ Missouri Gaming Commission Public Information Officer LeAnn McCarthy said, quoting Executive Director Gene McNary. „We continue to watch the numbers. We believe Kansas City is following the national trend of lower numbers for March.“

Argosy Casino posted revenue of USD 17 million, up 3 percent from USD 16.5 million last year. The casino had 219,555 customers, up 1 percent from 217,320 last year. Isle of Capri Casino Kansas City had revenue of USD 7.4 million, down 10 percent from USD 8.2 million last year. The casino had 136,782 customers, down 13 percent from 157,318 last year.

Harrah’s North Kansas City Casino & Hotel posted revenue of USD 18 million, down 4.6 percent from USD 18.8 million last year. The casino had 239,333 customers, down 16 percent from 286,091 last year.

Ameristar Casino & Hotel Kansas City reported revenue of USD 22.6 million, down 3 percent from USD 23.3 million last year. The casino had 317,350 customers, down 3.6 percent from 329,184 last year.
