Overall attendance at G2E 2007 hits new record

Global Gaming Expo 2007 attracted a record 30,173 gaming professionals from 99 countries around the world, a 5 % increase in attendance over last year, according to official audited attendance figures released by G2E organizers Reed Exhibitions and the American Gaming Association (AGA).

G2E 2007, the world’s premier trade show and conference event for the gaming industry, was held November 13-15 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The attendance figures were audited by Exhibit Surveys Incorporated.

In addition to overall attendance growth, G2E 2007 experienced increased participation in its trade show section. Attendance at the trade show totaled 14,312, representing a 3.5 percent increase from last year’s figure. Conference attendance also remained strong this year, with the conference at G2E 2007 attracting a total of 4,798 industry professionals.

„Each year, G2E continues its legacy as the world’s premier trade event for the gaming entertainment industry, a fact demonstrated by the increased overall attendance and increased attendance in our trade show section this year,“ said Frank J. Fahrenkopf, Jr., president and CEO of the AGA. „Since we first made the promise to deliver an event ’by the industry, for the industry’ back in 2001, we have remained committed to delivering exactly what gaming professionals need to be successful in the global gaming industry. Increased attendance at the event shows that industry professionals recognize the value we provide.“

In addition to experiencing increased attendance, the G2E 2007 exhibit hall also attracted a greater number of exhibitors, with 751 companies showcasing their products and services in 30,750 sqm of exhibiting space, the largest square footage ever in the history of G2E. A particularly strong growth area at G2E 2007 was security-related exhibitors, which totaled 104 security-related companies in 1,737 sqm of exhibit space. This equals a 20 percent increase in the number of security-related exhibitors from G2E 2006, and quadruple the number at G2E 2005.

G2E 2007 also saw continued growth in the food and beverage sector. F&B at G2E, the only culinary marketplace dedicated to the international gaming community, posted an 18 percent increase in attendance over 2006, and the F&B at G2E show floor increased in square footage, climbing nearly 7 percent to 1,439 sqm.

G2E 2007 attracted attendees from 99 different countries, including Austria, Bolivia, Belgium, Canada, Chile, China, Ecuador, Finland, Iceland, Ireland, Lithuania, Malaysia, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Nigeria, Poland, Puerto Rico, Singapore, South Africa, Sweden, Thailand, Turkey, the United Kingdom, Zimbabwe and more.

The strong participation of international representatives was evident on the trade show floor at G2E 2007, as 115 international companies representing 30 countries accounted for 15 percent of all G2E exhibitors. These international exhibitors showcased their products in 72,350 square feet of exhibit space.

G2E’s attendance figures are audited as part of an industry-leading initiative by Reed Exhibitions to provide accurate reporting on the trade shows and other events it organizes.
