Slow first day for Peru Gaming Show

The fifth edition of Peru Gaming Show counted with the presence of several local operators such as SAM Holding, Dakota, Cirsa and Fargo. However, during the first day most exhibitors pointed that there were few visitors.

At 12,30, organizers officially inaugurated the event on Wednesday, with a press conference held by Elizabeth Leiva, with the participation of lawyer Constante Traverso, from APEJA, Fredy Gamarra, head of Sonaja and Miguel San Román, Director of Mincetur. After that, it was held the traditional ribbon cut that officially inaugurated the fifth edition of Peru Gaming Show in Jockey Plaza Exhibition Center.

During the first day, several local exhibitors commented that the show had been positive up to the moment, while some directors of foreign companies remarked the low affluence of public. Besides, everyone agreed in pointing that the main mishap of the first day was due to problems with electric energy that affected the exhibition.

Elizabeth Leiva, Director of PGS, pointed that they expected to receive more public on Thursday, and commented that more than a thousand visitors assisted to the Exhibition Center on Wednesday.

Besides, there was a difference between the current edition and the previous one, more investment from the exhibitors, mainly in the size of the booths, such as the Bulgarian firm Casino Technology, that assisted to PGS with the biggest booth of the event, the firm Betstone, main sponsor of the show and KSI, which covered an important area of square metres to exhibit its slots. Other companies that also bet to show a more sophisticated and attractive image were Belatra, Kubuk, Novomatic, Unidesa and Bectris, among others.

Finally, Richard Marcus talked in the series of conferences. His talk started almost an tour and a half later than the time arranged in the official schedule of the event. The
experienced player talked for almost two hours before an auditorium in which most of the assistants were dealers, security personnel and casino employees in general.

Yesterday, the trade event opened its doors at 13pm, and two hours earlier it was held the talk: “Official authorization, Steps to Follow”, in charge of Augusto Paulett Díaz, Deputy Director of Authorization and Registration, addressed to manufacturers and operators. At 3 pm, Richard Marcus headed the second part of the talk: “Educating casino staff and dealers – How to detect cheatings”, and finally, at 5,30 pm, Constante Traverso, from APEJA, held the talk “Gambling industry, balance and perspective”.
