Final preparations were being carried out last night for the opening party of a grand GBP 13m casino. Businessman Damian Aspinall is hosting a lavish, themed event tonight at the new venue in Swansea’s city centre Salubrious Place. Costing GBP 75,000, it will feature soccer and rugby players, showbiz celebrities plus “movers and shakers” from business and politics in Wales.

Around 400 people have attended casino group Aspers' employment days, with the hope of securing a job at the multi-million pound venue when it opens this year.
