Chips are up for Casino as hopefuls take Punt on new Job Opportunities

Swansea’s new casino in Salubrious Place may be months from opening, but it has already got hundreds of Swansea residents crossing their fingers – in the hope of winning a job. Around 400 people have attended casino group Aspers‘ employment days, with the hope of securing a job at the multi-million pound venue when it opens this year.

The gambling company has now decided to put on extra sessions for recruits to give more people the chance to apply.

Richard Noble, general manager at the casino, said: „We are thrilled with the response to the training academy. The numbers from Swansea far exceeded our expectations.“

The company wants to recruit more than 50 dealers and another 200 staff, including waiters, chefs, secretaries, receptionists, accountants, and managers before the September opening.

Potential employees will then be sent on a seven-week training course at the company’s casino academy.

Mr Noble said: „The applications have come from all walks of life, both socially and educationally, and this is exactly the type of mix we are looking for in our staff.“
