The Krasnodar region announced Monday that it would hold auctions for land plots in the planned Azov-City gambling center on July 1. The gaming center, located on the border of the Krasnodar and Rostov regions along the Azov Sea, was created late last year as one of four national zones where the country's gambling industry would have to move after a ban comes into effect for the rest of the country on July 1, 2009.

The retired state judge overseeing the sale of the Tropicana Casino and Resort was right to ask for more time to secure a bid that's in line with the value of New Jersey's largest hotel. New York (Reuters) - Casino regulators in New Jersey agreed on Wednesday to reject all bids received for the Tropicana Casino and Resort in Atlantic City, and to restart the process for a buyer. The New Jersey Casino Control Commission said in a statement it gave the trustee overseeing the sale process, retired state Supreme Court Justice Gary Stein, another 120 days to find a buyer for the Tropicana.

Patrick Devlin, a lawyer and employee of the Michigan Gaming Control Board, has sued Michigan Attorney General Mike Cox in an effort to force him to require the state’s 19 tribal casinos to obtain liquor licenses. Devlin, who until Monday monitored tribal casinos for the gaming control board, has pressed state officials, including the attorney general’s office, for at least four years to address his concerns that the state should be regulating liquor sales in the casinos.

Chester, West Virginia - MTR Gaming Group Inc. has completed the sale of its Speedway Casino in Nevada. Lucky Lucy D paid USD 2 million in cash. It will pay off a balance of up to USD 4.77 million under an earn-out formula based on gross revenues over a four-year period. In January, MTR sold the casino's real estate to Ganaste LLC, an affiliate of Lucky Lucy D, for USD 11.4 million. The property will now be considered discontinued.

New Zealand Lotteries has launched its new online sales channel, mylotto.co.nz, that will enable lottery players to purchase tickets through the Internet. MTR Gaming Group plans to complete the sale of Binion’s Gambling Hall & Hotel in Las Vegas this week. TLC Casino Enterprises is buying the former home of the World Series of Poker for USD 32 million. As a last-minute part of the deal, though, both sides have agreed to a USD 3 million adjustment in working capital. That money will remain with the property when it changes hands. MTR says current market conditions led to the change.
