Topeka, Kansas (AP) -- The chairman of Kansas' casino review board says picking managers for state-owned casinos in Sumner and Cherokee counties won't be easy. Chairman Matt All said Friday that the seven-member board must consider more than projected revenue. He said other factors include debt, cash flow, financing in the current economic climate and what amenities would be offered.

London - An independent panel concluded Monday that 45 professional tennis matches from the past five years require further review because of suspicious betting patterns. The International Tennis Federation, the ATP, the WTA Tour and the four Grand Slams published the findings of the panel in a 66-page report. The review said while "professional tennis is neither institutionally nor systematically corrupt, it is potentially at a crossroads."

Britain National Lottery operator Camelot is lobbying the Treasury to change the way it is taxed, claiming this would boost prizes and increase contributions to good causes and the London Olympics. Camelot, which last month was awarded the next ten-year Lottery licence beginning in 2009, is urging the government to scrap the current tax of USD 0.24 on every USD 2 ticket. Instead, it is asking to be taxed in the same way as bookmakers, with a tax on gross profits. It wants the rate set at 24%.

London (Reuters) - The British government said on Monday it was reviewing taxes paid on player-to-player games in casinos, such as poker, where gamblers' so-called participation fees are subject to VAT but not gaming duty. Monday's government announcement came in a statement in which the Treasury said ministers had made several incorrect statements relating to gaming duty in casinos since April 30.

But there's a growing rebellion by MPs and Lords.

Nevada gambling regulators are moving ahead with a Feb. 27 hearing on MGM Mirage's casino venture in Macau with businesswoman Pansy Ho Chiu-king, daughter of Hong Kong billionaire and casino magnate Stanley Ho. The state Gaming Control Board, which will hold the meeting in Las Vegas, could make a recommendation to its parent Nevada Gaming Commission, which has final say on the venture, or could continue the meeting to another date if board members have additional questions.
