Online gambling has no chance in Turkey, industry observers are definite, considering the latest boom of censorship in the country. Over 500 big Turkish websites closed last Saturday as a form of protest against the increasing censorship of the Internet by the local government. This increasing censorship leads many to believe that the country, which is still attempting to join the European Union, is no soil for online gambling growth.

Washington and St John's have set a new deadline of Friday to resolve their dispute over Internet gambling, according to Antigua's top finance official. Antigua accuses the United States of crippling its gambling industry by banning Americans from placing online bets with gambling operators, including those based in the twin-island country of just 70,000 inhabitants.

In Britain, the Gambling Commission has announced that the Canadian First Nation enclave of Kahnawake along with Antigua are not to be white-listed for the purposes of advertising online gambling services in the UK. The Kahnawake licensing jurisdiction is home for hundreds of online gambling companies and the Gambling Commission gave no specific reason for the rejection.
