Dass der M-Commerce ein ziemlich großes Entwicklungspotenzial besitzt, hat sich inzwischen herumgesprochen (wir berichteten in BLN 09|2005); gerade dem Mobile Gaming werden erhebliche Wachstumschancen eingeräumt. Sieht man sich einmal näher an, was inzwischen alles „Mobile Gaming“ genannt wird, drängt sich der Eindruck auf, dass der Begriff inzwischen ebenso schillernd, bunt und konturlos ist, wie das Schlagwort „Multimedia“ in den 90er Jahren.

Vor gar nicht allzu langer Zeit eroberte der Handel den Cyberspace. Vor gerade einmal 10 Jahren gingen auch die ersten reinen Glücksspielangebote online. Seit Neuestem formt sich neben dem E-Commerce bzw. dem E-Gaming der M-Commerce bzw. das M-Gambling aus. Mit fortschreitender technologischer Entwicklung mobiler Geräte wie PDAs, Handhelds oder Smartphones scheint der M-Commerce noch einmal eine zweite Chance zu bekommen.
