Dan Ball reports. Early Wednesday, news websites across the country stated that Station Casinos will most likely file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, but now that might not be the case.

In a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, the company said the lawsuit is without merit because all bondholders are entitled to participate in its exchange offer, which is part of a plan to recapitalize the company. No old notes would remain outstanding if bondholders approve the restructuring plan, the company said. In his complaint, bondholder S. Add Harrah’s Entertainment Inc. to the list of Las Vegas gaming companies facing class-action lawsuits filed by securities lawyers. Harrah’s was sued last month in U.S. District Court in Delaware by two bondholders who claim a recent debt-exchange deal engineered by Harrah’s benefited some big corporate bondholders while placing other classes of bondholders in jeopardy, should Harrah’s default on its debt or file for bankruptcy protection.

Las Vegas (AP) -- International Game Technology, which makes slot machines and casino systems, and gaming software developer Las Vegas Gaming Inc. said late Tuesday that they have settled their lawsuit and agreed to a business and investment deal. Under the terms of the agreement, IGT will make a USD 11.5 million investment in Las Vegas Gaming, which will create applications for IGT's server-based gaming systems.

The lawsuit challenges a 2004 statewide vote that gave Broward and Miami-Dade counties the right to open slot-machine casinos with local approval. The 1st District Court of Appeal on May 7 sent the case back to its original Tallahassee court for trial.

Former owners of video slot machines widely called "Bada Iyagi" (The Sea Story) Tuesday lodged a lawsuit against the government with the Seoul Central District Court, alleging the government's inconsistent regulations left them bankrupt. Nick Trout bet he would get rich creating software for a fully automated poker table. Things didn't work out that way. Instead, Trout, who runs Tellis Software Inc. out of his San Antonio home, now is embroiled in a lawsuit with PokerTek Inc., based in Morris, N.C. He moved his company here a few years ago from the Houston area. "I was supposed to get 2 percent equity in the company and up to about USD 800,000," Trout said. "At the end of the day, I only got USD 30,000 out of them."
