Vienna (Thomson Financial) - Bwin e.K., in which Austria's BWIN Interactive Entertainment AG holds a 50 pct interest, has lodged a lawsuit against the German state of Baden-Wuerttemberg with the aim of having its right to facilitate online gaming services confirmed, the administrative court in Stuttgart said in a press release.

The Kewadin Shores Casino in St. Ignace can finally welcome gamblers, at least until a lawsuit is resolved over whether the casino can exist on land that's ineligible for Indian gaming. U.S. District Court Judge Allan Edgar of the Western District of Michigan has issued an order allowing the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians to open the casino until the court renders a decision in the suit. The tribe has sued the National Indian Gaming Commission and the U.S. Department of Interior to allow the opening of the casino, which is located 10 minutes from the Mackinac Bridge.

The St. Regis Mohawks and a trust representing some major shareholders in Empire Resorts recently restarted a federal lawsuit attempting to bag USD 3 billion from the casino giant Harrah's. The suit, filed in the U.S. Northern District, dates back to 2001 and alleges that Park Place Entertainment (which was later bought by Harrah's) duped the Mohawks into bolting from the Raceway to pursue a casino at Kutsher's.

Atlantic City - A former Atlantic City gaming executive who claims she was cheated out of a job after secretly helping financial giant Morgan Stanley on a billion-dollar casino project has won a ruling that keeps her lawsuit alive. Audrey S. Oswell, former president and chief executive officer of Resorts Atlantic City, sued Morgan Stanley last October in a case involving allegations of double-dealing, corporate intrigue and fraud.
