OASIS player exclusion system as the centralised system for excluding banned players from gaming

The OASIS (Online Access to the Player Blocking System) is a cross-game tool designed to protect players and combat gambling addiction. Players listed in the OASIS blocking file are prohibited from participating in gambling activities and from receiving gambling-related advertisements.

Blocking entries can be initiated by either gambling providers (third-party blocks) or by players themselves (self-blocks). These blocks can be set for a minimum of 24 hours or indefinitely.

Gambling providers are required to check players risk of addiction both during registration and before each gambling session. Players are only allowed to participate if the system returns a liberating message stating ‘The player is not blocked’. If the OASIS system fails, Providers are prohibited from allowing players to participate.

When conducting player status checks, the system uses the fields ‘First name’, ‘Surname’ and ‘birth data’.

Licensed online providers and authorised betting brokers are granted individual access to the OASIS system via their own security certificates. Providers without a licence do not receive access credentials for the OASIS system.

The insic system manages access data and OASIS certificates. Blocking orders are managed through a website operated by supervisory authorities, and player queries are conducted through a special web service provided by these authorities.
