EADR and its presence at Gaming in Germany Conference 2023

On 16th October 2023, EADR Ltd. took part in Gaming in Germany: Moving forward in a highly regulated market Conference as a Strategic Partner. The conference was held at the Hotel Adlon Kempinski in the center of Berlin, Germany. EADR was represented by Jochen Biewer and Ursula Bessa Marinho, who gave a presentation on EADR in one of the Breakout Sessions hosted by Chevron Group.

During the presentation it was explained how EADR is an ADR entity that resolves disputes between licensed operators and their respective players in both German and English language. EADR has its own software, which has been funded by the EU, on which it receives disputes that are confidential, less formal, and less stressful than traditional court proceedings.

It has been shown statistically that since 2019 the biggest causes of disputes EADR receives on the platform concern bonuses, and complaints related to the interpretation or application of promotional terms and conditions. Other reasons also listed as major complaints are Payment Problems, KYC, Breakdown in Communications, and Multi-Accounting.

The problems of the operators' systems were also mentioned, such as the Maximum Bet Terms. Maximum bet terms associated with bonuses represent one of the largest single points of conflict between players and operators, under the ADR remit. There would be a significantly reduced caseload of complaints if these terms were to be enforced automatically rather than relying on players to remember and adhere to them.

The aim of EADR presence at the conference was to promote EADR and give an opportunity to other ADR entities to join the ADR network in order to discuss and develop a common

understanding and a common approach to dispute resolution. Interested participants also got a chance to join the The Alternative Dispute Resolution Forum. EADR presence at the conference was very fruitful and new relationships were formed which give us hope for a future expansion of the ADR network.
