GBP 13 million casino deal

The owners of Leeds’s new GBP 13m casino and entertainment venue have offered a sneak preview ahead of its official opening in September.

The 1,700 capacity Alea Leeds casino is located in the recently developed £260m Clarence Dock quarter of the city and its owners believe it will become one of Leeds’s hottest entertainment destinations.

The official opening party is on September 10 when customers will be able to see the development for themselves.

With an interior spanning three floors, the venue boasts a 21ft ceiling with showcase chandeliers and a central bar design that includes waterfall and flame features.

The interior features seven different bars centred around a gaming floor, complemented by a boutique cinema and a 500-capacity private event space.

Speaking ahead of the opening, venue director of Alea Leeds Casino, Andy Orr, said: „We intend to host one of the biggest launch parties Leeds has ever seen. Leeds is a vibrant city and Alea’s aim is to offer a top quality experience with a difference for workers, residents and visitors to the city, seven nights a week.

„Alea Leeds Casino will have something for everyone – whether you are a traditional punter or just want a night to remember with friends and family.

„Our aim is to create a great atmosphere and provide the answer for a whole night’s entertainment under one roof.

„Offering an assortment of dining in Fig, our Mediterranean-style restaurant, a unique twist on Indian cooking served up by a celebrity chef in Bird or drinks in one of our seven themed bars, we plan to deliver an entertaining experience.

„We will also offer an assortment of favourite table games – including roulette, blackjack, poker – and slots in a cool gaming environment.“

The destination is part of the increasingly popular Clarence Dock development, situated next to The Royal Armouries.

Alea Leeds Casino is the sister casino to Manchester235, whose success in the past two years has attracted top celebrity customers.

Alea Leeds Casino will be open from 12pm to 6am daily. Membership is free and further details can be found at
