CAI Announces Further Expansion Plans at ICE Début

Vienna/London 23 January 2007 – Casinos Austria International (CAI), the international casino development and management company, used its first appearance at the casino industries most important exhibition, the International Casino Exhibition (ICE) in London, to announce its latest results as well as unveil exciting plans for further expansion.

At the opening of the futuristic CAI Exhibition Lounge, CEO Paul Herzfeld announced strong results for 2006. Record revenues of 1.26 billion were recorded representing an increase of 7.6 compared with 1.17 billion for 2005. Visitor numbers rose by 2.7 from 18.5 million to 19 million while the number of casinos remained almost unchanged. Our strategy of quality growth with concentration on the many successful CAI casinos in growth markets is the right one, explained Herzfeld. CAI CFO Josef Leutgeb emphasized the increased profitability of the casinos and the clear increase in revenue per employee.

Exciting plans for further expansion were also revealed during the CAI presentation. 2007 will see the opening of the first CAI casinos in Serbia (Belgrade) and Chile (Los Angeles) while in South Africa the current portfolio of five casinos will be enhanced by a further two casinos in Queenstown and Johannesburg. Casino Silverstar in Johannesburg will be one of the largest in South Africa with 35 gaming tables and 700 slot machines. In Argentina CAI is about to become majority shareholder in the holding company operating the three casinos in the city of Salta.

In addition to the expansion steps already announced, Herzfeld talked about further investments in growth markets in Europe, North America and Asia. Innovative concepts will play a major role here. Our company strategy is focussed not only on operating more casinos in more countries than any other casino company but also operating different and better casinos than the rest. In particular with new operations we want to set new, higher standards.

CAIs début as an exhibitor at the ICE 2007 underlined its commitment to innovation. High-quality modern materials (acrylic glass, wood and steel) have been used to create an unusual Exhibition Lounge with a futuristic designer touch, which sets it apart from the classic casino look. A main attraction at the Lounge was the 360Ú degree presentation screen for showing films and images as well as creating futuristic lighting effects.

The Austrian casino companys stand was extremely busy as soon as it opened. Even after these first few hours we can confirm that the decision to appear at the ICE for the first time with our own stand was a positive one, said Herzfeld. Were presenting ourselves here to the industry and therefore to many potential partners as a successful, innovative and in many ways unique casino development and management company.
