Las Vegas (AP) -- Poker professional Scotty Nguyen won nearly USD 2 million at the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas on Monday, topping a field of 148 players and emerging from a marathon final table with his fifth gold bracelet. Nguyen beat out 23-year-old Michael DeMichele in H.O.R.S.E., a rotating-game tournament that cost USD 50,000 to enter. The various games and limited betting structure reward all around play and is said to truly reward the best players over the long haul.

J.C. Tran has done in his career what most tournament poker players can only dream of. He has more than USD 6 million in winnings, a World Series of Poker Circuit ring, a World Poker Tour title, a WPT Player-of-the-Year award and he currently sits at the pinnacle of the Bluff Magazine/ESPN Poker Power Rankings. The one noticeable absence on his career record was a World Series of Poker bracelet.

Joe Commisso had one helluva Saturday. Not only did he win a World Series of Poker bracelet but he also took home the largest single cash prize of the 2008 WSOP to date after triumphing in the longest final table heads-up match of the year. Commisso, 28, claimed a whopping USD 911,855 as the last player standing out of a field of 805 in Event #46 (USD 5,000 No Limit Hold 'em Six Handed).

Las Vegas - Allen Cunningham, Howard Lederer, Chris Ferguson and Patrik Antonious showed up late. Phil Hellmuth and David Williams departed early. And six hours into the first day, dealers united in one thought -- change the setups. All of the decks used during the first two levels of play were taken out of action and replaced.
