They acted despite skepticism of rosy financial projections the casinos' parent company, Trump Entertainment Resorts, laid out for the next three years.

Las Vegas (Reuters) - New owners of Trump Entertainment Resorts Inc. could help Atlantic City, the New Jersey casino town, if they upgrade the properties and generate more business for the area, the head of luxury mall owner Taubman Centers said on Monday. Taubman Centers has a shopping mall close to the Trump Plaza casino in the seaside resort town.
Trump Entertainment Resorts Inc., the casino company controlled by Donald J. Trump, has received preliminary offers from possible buyers. Company spokesman Tom Hickey confirmed tonight that the strategic committee created by the company's board of directors had offers, but declined to give details as to who or how much. "Yes, it's true. We have gotten preliminary offers," Hickey said.
Dealers at Trump Marina Hotel Casino narrowly rejected a bid to unionize, union representatives said Saturday. The dealers voted 183-175 on Friday against joining the United Auto Workers, union representatives said. But they vowed to press on with efforts to organize at other casinos in the city. "We won't let this one vote deter us from moving forward and helping dealers who want to form a union and gain a voice in the decisions that affect their lives and their families," Joe Ashton.
Atlantic City - The parent company of three casinos bearing Donald Trump's name moved today to block the results of a vote by dealers at Trump Plaza to join a labor union. Trump Entertainment Resorts filed an objection with the National Labor Relations Board seeking to set aside the results of a March 31 election in which dealers voted by a more than 2-to-1 margin to join the United Auto Workers.
