Topeka, Kansas - Recent computer blunders in the Kansas Lottery Pick 3 game could cost international gaming giant Gtech a contract to run the games at the four state-owned casinos. The Providence, R.I.-based firm manages state lottery and casino data systems for gambling jurisdictions worldwide, including Kansas. In April, the firm was tentatively awarded the state's casino data systems contract.

Topeka - A state board will take another step forward this week in its efforts to decide which developers should build and manage four state-owned resort casinos. The Kansas Lottery Gaming Facility Review Board will begin hearing presentations from prospective casino managers and hear public comment on new gaming ventures today. The seven-member board will meet in each of the four areas of the state that would house the resort casinos.

Topeka, Kansas -- The four American Indian tribes that run casinos in Kansas are discussing ways to respond to competition if state-owned gaming complexes open in a few years. Three of the tribes are planning to bid on the state-owned casinos to keep as many customers as possible, while a fourth is considering suing the state to stop expansion of gambling in Kansas.
