Las Vegas (AP) -- Casino company Las Vegas Sands Corp. declined to comment Monday on a Hong Kong newspaper's report that Sands might sell the first foreign-owned casino in the Chinese island of Macau under a leaseback arrangement worth USD 1.3 billion.

Isle of Capri Casinos Inc. said Thursday that it will sell its Coventry, U.K., casino for approximately USD 940,000 in order to concentrate more on its U.S. properties. The casino operator sold the casino to The Rank Group PLC, which also bought out Isle's existing lease requirement for the Ricoh Arena for about USD 11.2 million.

Las Vegas - Debt-laden Station Casinos is trying to sell several parcels of land, including the former site of the Castaways casino. The 30-acre site on a gambling corridor off the Las Vegas Strip is listed with a commercial broker for an asking price of USD 39.5 million. The company is also listing for sale 7.96 acres of vacant land next to its Boulder Station casino and 4.7 acres adjacent to Sunset Station.

Los Angeles - Casino operator Wynn Resorts Ltd said on Monday it has commenced a public offering of 7 million shares of its common stock. Wynn said it intends to use the proceeds for general corporate purposes, including repayment of debt. The company, based in Las Vegas, said it would grant to Deutsche Bank Securities Inc and Merrill Lynch & Co an option to purchase up to an additional 1.05 million shares.

(Bloomberg) -- MGM Mirage’s new chief executive officer, James Murren, said he plans to “dramatically” reduce debt and will consider further casino sales as he overhauls the company’s balance sheet. Murren plans to refinance maturing bonds as bank lending resumes and markets open up. MGM Mirage may buy back some notes trading at discounted levels, either through market purchases or tender offers, he said in an interview yesterday.

Las Vegas (AP) -- Casino operator MGM Mirage Inc. is selling the Treasure Island Hotel & Casino on the Las Vegas Strip to billionaire Phil Ruffin for USD 500 million, the company said Monday. Ruffin, whose interests include casinos and greyhound race tracks, purchased the property through Ruffin Acquisition LLC for USD 500 million cash and USD 275 million in secured notes issued by Ruffin Acquisition and secured by Treasure Island's assets, MGM Mirage said. The combined value of the deal, including debt, is USD 775 million.

(Reuters) - Citigroup initiated coverage of Wynn Resorts Ltd with a "sell" rating and a price target of USD 29, and said it does not see any catalysts for the stock until the second half of 2009. "Although we believe Wynn is the best positioned U.S. (casino) operator in Macau, the opening of Encore in Las Vegas, visa issues and commission caps in Macau leave many landmines in the road ahead," analyst Anil Daswani said in a note to clients.

Tropicana Entertainment plans to sell its Casino Aztar in Evansville, as part of the fallout from the denial of its Atlantic City license last week. In addition, the company is selling the Tropicana in Atlantic City, and has already signed a contract to sell a casino it owns in Vicksburg, Mississippi. Word of the sales came as the company made a crucial interest payment Monday on its credit agreement, and said it was working on reaching an agreement with its lenders that would prevent it from filing for bankruptcy.
