Las Vegas - One of the developers planning to build a USD 5 billion casino resort modeled after the Plaza Hotel in New York says they have agreed in principle with lenders to extend a loan used to buy the land. Israeli-based Property and Building Corp. said in a Thursday statement that Elad IDB, a joint venture with New York-based Elad, has received an extension to repay a USD 625 million loan until August 2012.

The investors, Elad Group and IDB Development Corp. Ltd., both of Israel, are "substantial partners" with adequate access to capital, said Daniel Wade, who was named as chief operating officer of the Las Vegas project on Monday.

Atlantic City Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino has lost its appeal to overturn the results of a spring election where more than two-thirds of dealers voted to join the United Auto Workers union. On Friday, a National Labor Relations Board judge has overruled Trump Plaza’s objection to an election in which its dealers voted 324-149 for union representation and is recommending that the United Auto Workers be certified as the employees’ collective bargaining representative.
