It is blaming the "restrictive regulatory landscape in the UK" after only being granted the license in 2005 and opening the casino a year later. The Ricoh Arena said it is confident of finding a new domestic operator.

While Station Casinos plans to file for bankruptcy in March, a joint venture of the casino company plans to seek financing and break ground within weeks on a USD 200 million American Indian casino in Michigan. Station Casinos spokeswoman Lori Nelson said its tribal gaming contracts wouldn't be affected by the restructuring because contracts are held separately from the casino company's financing structure.

Philadelphia (AP) -- Empire Resorts Inc. said Tuesday that a joint-venture partner in an upstate New York hotel and casino project has received USD 250 million in financing from an insurer with close ties to labor unions. The casino developer said Concord Associates LP has received financing from Union Labor Life Insurance Co. to build the USD 1 billion Concord-Empire Resorts Hotel and Casino in the Catskills. The project is expected to generate union construction and local jobs.

Atlantic City, New Jersey - With tight credit markets threatening or slowing casino projects here and around the country, the developers of the USD 2 billion Revel casino-hotel are turning to the city for help. The City Council is scheduled to introduce an ordinance Wednesday night that would allow it to issue USD 56 million worth of bonds to provide money for Revel to redesign and widen access roads to the project.
