Front-line staffers working in casinos run by Macau's six licensed gaming operators are required to wear name tags starting this month, so that non-local employees can be "distinguished" from local ones, the Macau Daily Times reported on Saturday. The Special Administrative Region's Labor Affairs Bureau said in a statement that it expected the public to support the scheme and help "monitor" if the casinos employ illegal immigrant workers.

Singaporeans wishing to try their hand at dealing cards at a casino can apply for jobs this week at the two upcoming integrated resorts. Resorts World at Sentosa (RWS) and Marina Bay Sands will both kick off their first recruitment drive for gaming staff, together with other non-gaming positions, at the Career 2009 & Education 2009 fair starting Thursday. The gaming positions available include dealers, pit supervisors and surveillance operators.

Kathmandu: Staff of the city's famous casinos on Saturday were up in arms in protest against alleged police highhandedness at one of the seven super joints last night, which left over two dozen staff members injured. Over 6,000 employees of the city's seven casino's took to streets to protest the incident at a time when the capital city is looking forward to influx of more tourists and clients, to turn the tide for these gaming houses, which have worn a forlorn look for the past few years.
