The unprecedented SiGMA

The unprecedented SiGMA, the Summit of iGaming in Malta, took place over the weekend at the Intercontinental Hotel, St. Julian’s, bringing together the igaming community under one roof, both companies based in Malta and others from overseas.

The Hon. Jose Herrera and Hon. Chris Cardona took centre stage at one of the conferences with their opening speeches. Shortly after, executive chairman of the LGA, Joseph Cuschieri made a detailed presentation of the LGA’s foresight for the coming months and years.

The adjacent SiGMA Hall was brimming with activity from a vast line-up of exhibitors. Grizzled veterans of the igaming industry could be heard comparing the electrifying buzz at SiGMA to similar conferences some years ago.

Given space limitation, booths were stacked next to each other, creating a cosier atmosphere and making it relatively easy for delegates to stroll from one space to another. Given that most companies are actually located in the host city, many C-level executives could take some time out to pass by. It’s safe to say that over the past two days the SiGMA expo floor provided value to all of its exhibitors, especially to newer or smaller companies who are now ready to showcase their products.

The affiliates conference had some quality speakers that delivered impeccable tipcs on latest trends in igaming.

In the words of Eman Pulis, SiGMA event organiser, “Malta is host to some 300 gaming companies and strong workforce of 9,000. The idea of creating a platform to showcase the industry had been brewing in many c-level executives’ minds. With this feedback and the support from the LGA and the Government of Malta, we took off eighteen months ago and, as a result, the first event has been held, quite successfully it seems. It’s safe to guess that we’ll be back next year with new content and exciting features.”
