With Mathias Moser, a proven industry expert will take over the operational management of the umbrella organization of Swiss casinos. The lawyer has been a member of the management board of the Grand Casino Bern for six years and brings with him in particular in-depth experience in the areas of compliance, player protection, and money laundering prevention – topics that are becoming increasingly important for licensed casinos in Switzerland.
Moser holds a master's degree in business law and will complete an Executive MBA from the University of Bern in cooperation with the University of Rochester (New York) in June 2026. He is also fluent in German, French, Italian, and English – a profile that is considered an advantage given Switzerland's federal structure and the international networking of the industry.
Outgoing CEO Marc Friedrich will advise his successor during the transition phase. During his nearly two decades in office, Friedrich guided the Swiss casino industry through several regulatory upheavals, including the introduction of the Money Gaming Act and the opening of the regulated online market.
The Swiss Casino Association brings together all land-based and online licensed casinos in Switzerland and represents their interests vis-à-vis politicians, authorities, and the public. The association's goal is to strengthen the legal gambling offering and steer gaming operations in a controlled direction. According to the SCV, Swiss casinos have generated more than eight billion Swiss francs for the AHV (old age and survivors' insurance) to date.
With the change in leadership, the association is focusing on continuity – at the same time, Moser's professional background is likely to send a clear signal that regulatory stability, player protection, and compliance will continue to be central guidelines for the association's work in the future.
