Clarion Gaming to launch new i-Gaming event

SiGNAL show will be held in Malta in 19 – 21 May, 2009

A new event format by producers Clarion Gaming aims to answer the need for networking in between anchor events IGE (International Gaming Expo) and EiG (European i-Gaming Congress & Expo) while simultaneously offering a series of training sessions and discussion groups.

Unique to SiGNAL, the Summer i-Gaming Networking And Learning event, is a special low-cost entry fee to facilitate teams of management participating in hands-on training and high-level discussions that are not always possible in conventional event formats. Because of the change in format, organizers are able to set registration pricing at roughly one-third of the cost of traditional conference rates.

„When creating SiGNAL, our goal was to produce an event that would allow the large number of operators and suppliers with offices in Malta or abroad to give their management a venue to not only discuss broad ideas that shape the industry, but also tangible business training that will have immediate effect on the work environment and the bottom line,“ said Dawn Kirkwood, Head of Conferences – Americas for Clarion Gaming.

The two-and-a-half day event scheduled for 19 – 21 May, 2009 will be held in Malta with training, discussion groups, an exhibition at the InterContinental Hotel and networking events each evening. Training session topics will include managing staff turnover, managing upwards and understanding the customer experience.

Discussion groups will focus on topics including consolidation, acquiring investments, finding success as a startup, EU regulations, combating negative media and recruitment strategies. Moderated by knowledgeable i-gaming industry veterans, these intimate discussions will lead delegates through to concrete solutions. Sue Schneider, long-time i-gaming business pioneer, will lead the discussion on „Presenting a United Front: How the iGaming Industry Should Work Together to Clean Up its Image,“ a topic she’s long championed. Additional moderators include Mark Blandford, Founder of Sportingbet, Alex Czajkowski, CEO Gaming 2.0, Nicky Senyard, CEO Income Access, and Melissa Blau, CEO Europa Point Group, among others being confirmed.

SIGNAL will also include visits to local i-gaming companies’ offices. This new interactive concept allows delegates to get a first-hand look at business being done in an industry that rarely affords behind-the-scenes glimpses by virtue of its remote nature.
