Shotgun robbers arrested at casino

Three people have been arrested at Star City casino overnight following an armed robbery near Wagga Wagga yesterday afternoon.

Two people entered the credit union on Cowabbie Street, Coolamon, near Wagga Wagga, about 1.15pm yesterday and threatened staff with a shotgun, police said.

They escaped with a sum of cash.

One was wearing a balaclava and the other a motorcycle helmet, and the pair was last seen riding away on a stolen motorcycle, police said.

Police arrested three people – a 24-year-old man, a 22-year-old Harden man and a 19-year-old Wagga Wagga woman – at Star City at 3:15am.

A police spokeswoman was unable to say why or how the alleged offenders had travelled from Wagga Wagga to Sydney.

The three people have not been charged, she said.
