Real money and social gaming start-ups invited to showcase their ideas at an industry event in San Francisco, CA

GiGse LaunchPad competition continues to highlight innovation in the industry and adds GamCrowd as its strategic partner

Five start-ups will be given an opportunity to showcase their business ideas on stage at GiGse, taking place in San Francisco, CA on April 20-22. Selected in a submission process that finishes on March 15, these start-ups will be mentored to fine-tune their pitches and then present in front of the investors’ panel and the GiGse audience, composed of industry professionals representing both operators and suppliers on the lookout for potential partners or acquisition targets.

GiGse LaunchPad is one of the many initiatives that Clarion, GiGse organizer, offers to start-ups at its events. Partnership with GamCrowd, the industry’s only crowdfunding and crowdsourcing platform, already trialled successfully at EiG and most recently at ICE through the staging of the Pitch ICE competition, reinforces the start-up focus at GiGse and will draw from GamCrowd’s expertise and extended contacts in both the start-up and investment communities.

In addition to promoting the LaunchPad and participating in the selection of the finalists, GamCrowd’s Chairman, Ian Hogg, will be judging the start-ups during the competition, alongside other leading investors such as Craig Abrahams, CFO, Caesars Interactive Entertainment and Paul Martino, Managing Partner, Bullpen Capital.

Ian commented on the GamCrowd’s partnership with the GiGse LaunchPad: ‘The success of some of the companies that debuted at the LaunchPad, such as Imperus (that just acquired Diwip), BlueBat Games (acquired by Greentube) and Element Wave (that signed multiple gaming clients for their mobile marketing platform on the back of their win at EiG 2013) has proved that concepts such as the EiG and GiGse LaunchPad and Pitch ICE work as a way to highlight innovation in the industry and spearhead new business models.’

GiGse LaunchPad will take place on April 22. Start-ups interested in participating are invited to submit their companies via the GiGse website www.gigse.com before the deadline of March 15.
