Dealer from Casino Bucharest wins European Dealer Championship 2013

34-year-old Luiza Caradeanu wins not only the main competition, but also takes home the title in two side events.

The best dealers from across Europe gathered in Casino de Campione in Italy from 7-8 May 2013 to battle it out for the title at the European Casino Association’s annual European Dealer Championship (EDC). Competition at the 7th EDC was fierce, but determination, skill and ambition finally won the day as Luiza Caradeanu from Casino Bucharest in Romania convinced the judges with her passion, dedication, charm and talent to emerge as the popular winner. Luiza also won two of the side events, namely ‘Fastest Chipper’ and ‘Fastest Stack Pusher on Roulette’.

Luiza, who has worked at Casino Bucharest for eight years, was only the third woman to win the title and received a standing ovation as she accepted her prize – a trip for two to Las Vegas. Usually calm and collected, she said simply, “I love my job, so this is a great honor”.

Casinos Austria International (CAI) would like to extend its congratulations to Luiza and to all the other finalists. The company’s network was well represented at this year’s event, with Jannick Hjorc Nielsen from Casino Copenhagen in Denmark taking sixth place.

Launched in 2007, the ECA‘s annual European Dealer Championship is now a key event in the European gaming calendar. Participating dealers are judged on their performance at the American Roulette and Blackjack tables in a range of categories, including hospitality and communication skills, technical expertise, discretion and control of the game.
