Seminole Tribe of Florida Joins Gaming Standards Association as Platinum Member

Other New Members Include International Currency Technology, R. Franco USA, Renaissance Casino Solutions

LAS VEGAS – December 18, 2003 – Highlighting its increasingly global reach, industry advocate Gaming Standards Association (GSA) recently welcomed four new members, from Taiwan, the United States and Spain. The increase brings GSA’s total worldwide membership to 60.

The Seminole Tribe of Florida has joined as a Platinum Member, and with its Platinum status, the Tribe has also joined GSA’s Board of Directors. The Tribe is the second Native American organization to become a member of GSA, and further bolsters vital operator presence in GSA’s membership. Joining as silver members are International Currency Technology and R. Franco USA. Renaissance Casino Solutions joins as an Advisory Member.

GSA Board Chairman Gregg Solomon of Mandalay Resort Group said, „The Seminole Tribe of Florida has taken a leadership position in advancing the cause of Tribal gaming, and we are pleased to welcome them into the GSA. As serious operators of multiple gaming properties, it makes sense for the Tribe to join forces with GSA, whose main goal is technological standardization.“

Lyle Bell, senior vice president of information technology for the Tribe, said, „Standardization is a critical issue to Tribes across the United States, particularly in light of the major developments in Class II gaming. We believe the GSA is moving forward in the right direction for the industry as a whole and are proud to represent the voices of Tribal gaming in GSA as a Platinum member.“

GSA President Peter DeRaedt said, „The global presence of GSA in all areas of gaming – operators, manufacturers, testing facilities and regulators – is continually increasing, and we are very proud to welcome these four new members.“

The expanding global membership comes as GSA is preparing to participate in the upcoming International Casino Exposition (I.C.E.) in London this January.

The Seminole Tribe of Florida has more non-contiguous reservations than any Tribe in North America. The Tribe’s gaming facilities in Florida include Seminole Gaming Palace in Tampa, Seminole Casino Hollywood in Hollywood, Seminole Casino – Brighton in Brighton, Seminole Gaming Palace & Casino in Immokalee and Coconut Creek Casino in Coconut Creek.
