All-New Corinthian Club opens in Glasgow

The iconic Corinthian Club reopens its doors in Glasgow on 28 August 2010 after a multi-million pound refurbishment. In addition to some of the highest quality meeting, eating and socializing facilities in the country, the all-new Corinthian Club also features some of the UK’s most impressive gaming facilities.

The Corinthian Club in Glasgow is set to take the city by storm with its unrivalled choice of 14 different dining, bar, socializing, gaming, meeting and event rooms when it reopens on 28 August 2010 following a multi-million pound refurbishment. Set in one of the city’s most important architectural gems, the unique entertainment venue extends across all five floors of the landmark mansion house on Ingram Street in the heart of Glasgow’s stylish Merchant City.

The new Corinthian Club offers an unrivalled choice of entertainment options and the highest possible standards of service under one literally breathtaking roof. The Lower Ground floor is home to the Mash & Press Rooms, two vaulted spaces serving fine wines and specialty craft beers from around the world, and the Club – a late night destination featuring the city’s leading DJs on Friday and Saturday nights

The ground floor is the architectural heart of the venue and features superb dining in the Tellers Bar & Brasserie, a mouth-watering choice of finest spirits in Bootleg, the best gaming entertainment in town in the Gaming Rooms and timeless, elegant shopping opportunities in the Boutique.

The first floor is home to Charlie Parkers – a unique piano bar with a difference – as well as a choice of superb private dining, meeting and function rooms. Further meeting, event and reception rooms can be found on the upper floors.

To ensure its Gaming Rooms were really something special, Glasgow-based G1 Group, owners of The Corinthian Club and Scotland’s leading licensed trade group, teamed up with Vienna-based Casinos Austria International. The Corinthian Club is the renowned international casino and entertainment company’s first venture in the UK.

Casinos Austria International CEO, Paul Herzfeld, expressed his delight with the stunning new venue: “The Corinthian Club is really something quite magnificent, and we are proud to be partners in this project. The refurbishment has been a true success and complements the building perfectly. Stefan King and his team at G1 are absolute professionals and have created a venue that really is second to none. The Casinos Austria International team has also once again risen to the challenge and realized a very challenging casino concept in a very short time. The Corinthian Club’s stylish gaming facilities are quite outstanding and really do justice to this landmark building. We look forward to a long and successful partnership with G1.

Casinos Austria International’s Cathy McGuire, the Gaming General Manager at The Corinthian Club said: “The Corinthian Club has real vision and brings a new lease of life to the British gaming sector. This will be a stand-alone, multi-faceted entertainment venue, which will be unique not just in Glasgow or Scotland, but in the UK as a whole. In fact, since there really is nothing else quite like it, we also expect to attract gamers from across Europe and beyond.”

McGuire, who has over 20 years experience in the gaming industry, will oversee The Corinthian Club’s gaming business and extensive selection of dedicated Gaming Rooms. Developed in close cooperation between Casinos Austria International and the G1 Group, the venue’s state-of-the-art gaming facilities include four American Roulette tables, four flip-top Black Jack/Three Card Poker tables, a large 10-seat Poker table and a Punto Banco table, as well as a range of latest generation slot and automatic Roulette machines.

The Corinthian Club also has special rooms and tables set aside, with friendly, highly trained staff on hand to teach non-experienced gamers the basic rules of the games.
