„Detroit Al“ Green wins Limit Hold’em Event #6 in Heads Up Match with Norman Ketchem

Biloxi, MS (January 8, 2009) – After eliminating New Orleans, LA student, Bobby Toye, in third place, Al Green set his sights on the prize purse of over USD 28,808 plus a custom 1.5 ounce white gold diamond encrusted made bracelet. Bobby went all in with the Doyle Brunson hand of 10-2 against Al’s A-8. The community cards came 7-7-5-5-9 and Bobby went all out. This set up the heads-up match and it was back and forth. Al took the main prize going in with A-4 and caught his ace on the river. He beat a true poker pro who has won over USD 430,000 with a WSOP bracelet in Vegas along with several circuit rings. Detroit Al says he has never even been to Detroit, MI, but he has played at the famous Mayfair Club in New York City with a lot of famous people. He states that to be a true poker champion, one should be an all round player, one that can win a HORSE tournament. Congrats to Al.
There is going to be a HORSE tournament here January 12, 2008 (Event # 14). Poker managers, Ken Lambert, Johnny Grooms and Eric Comer have a wide range of scheduled poker games. They try to have something for everyone.

Through the end of this Limit Hold’em tournament, 2,461 players have entered the seven events played at the SPC. So far, the combined payout for these seven events exceeds one million-dollars — as USD 1,063,375 in prize money paid out to the winners.
