World record poker bid at all-night bar

Lincoln’s Library Bar will play host to world record attempt

A poker player will be putting his stamina to the test when he attempts to break a world record at a 24-hour venue.

Dave Cain is hoping to set a new record for the longest ever poker session at the Library Bar in Lincoln next month.

He will attempt to play for 100 hours – smashing the previous record of 72 – and raise GBP 10,000 for local charities in the process.

The Library Bar, owned by pubco the Kurnia Group, was recently granted a 24-hour licence.

Kurnia Group director Michael Kheng said: “It’s great for Dave to have chosen the Library Bar to stage his world record attempt.

“Kurnia wish Dave success in his attempt and shall be providing all the support we can.

His attempt will start on September 14.
