Puerto Rico collects USD 300 million annually with casinos

With a total of 20 gambling venues currently operating in the country, Puerto Rican government collects around USD 300 million a year in casinos. Seven new casinos are planned to open before the end of the year.

Recreational machines hosted in this type of centers are administrated under a monitoring system, it means, an online central server. They also count with a procedure to count the profitability of the machines.

Nowadays, there are 6,554 units operating in the country, generating more than 3,000 direct employments in casinos, according to the Gambling Direction of the Official Tourist Company.

The legalization of this game of chance modality is from 1948.
