The US Department of Justice has announced a new attorney for its case in defense of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA) of 2006 brought by the Interactive Media Entertainment and Gaming Association (iMEGA).

Attorney Nicholas John Bagley graduated in 2005 from New York University (NYU) School of Law near the top of his class after receiving his Bachelors Degree from Yale University. He taught eighth grade English in a New York City public school before matriculating at NYU and also clerked for Judge David Tatel of the Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit and Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens. He is currently listed as counsel for the Government in around 14 other cases appearing before Federal Appellate Courts across the country.

iMEGA is a non-profit Washington, DC-based lobby group challenging UIGEA in iMEGA versus Gonzales, which will now move to the US Third Circuit Court of Appeals in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, after Judge Mary Cooper failed to rule on the matter in the US District Court for the District of New Jersey in March.
