Sportium achieved the third sportsbooks operating license for Madrid

Madrid Gaming Direction has granted Sportium the third license to operate sportsbooks in the region. The remaining two had been granted to Codere, that began to operate this week under the Victoria brand, and to Intralot Iberia.

According to the company, the first Sportium center will be located on number 87, Paseo de la Castellana, and will be inaugurated under the name of Sportium Center. It is a 150 sqm space which includes exhibitors of betting tickets, panel of displays to show events, self-service terminals and displays or Betting Counters.

The company explained that the granting of this authorization will allow Sportium to become “the first specialized sportsbooks chain in sports events”, which will have more than 130 centers in the country.

This initiative is the result of a strategic alliance between Cirsa and Ladbrokes, worldwide leaders in the gaming and entertainment sector. Sportium centres are points of sale located in private gaming rooms (gaming halls, bingo halls or casinos) and centres specially dedicated to sportsbooks.

Madrid capital will have 65 of the 130 Sportium centres, which will be operative in the following weeks. The rest of the centers of this first stage will be located in Torrejón, Parla, Villalba, Alcorcón, Leganés, Coslada, Barajas, Alcalá de Henares, Pinto, Móstoles and Getafe, in places like Salones Casino Park, Salón Futura Center, Bingo Villalba and Salón Oporto, among others.

Every center will offer its customers 12 daily hours of the best worldwide sports events, which are showed without interruptions in the screens of the stores: football, basket ball, tennis, horse and greyhound races, etc. Sportium points of sale also bring multiple game formulas. So the user may predict, among many things, who will be the first player in scoring and how will the first goal be scored, for example.

On top of traditional bets, there is also the so-called “star game”, which is the most remarkable event of the week. In this event, open to any mode in which two teams compete, the bet offer and the winning increases.

Sportium CEO, Pablo Alcalá, assured that the strategic alliance between Cirsa and Ladbrokes “aims to turn Sportium in a leader in the gaming and entertainment sector”.

“Thanks to the agreements signed with several gaming operators and the big network of Cirsa gambling venues and bingo halls in the council, Sportium is presented as an innovative and different leisure formula, which is becoming more attractive to the Spanish public day after day”, he indicated.
