Las Vegas Sands announces intention to pursue Kansas gaming license

William P. Weidner, President of Las Vegas Sands, the world’s largest gaming operator, issued a statement this week related to a request for proposal issued by the Unified Government Wyandotte County, Kansas.

In that statement, Las Vegas Sands announced that the company submitted a proposal to the Unified Government of Wyandotte County, Kansas outlining a vision of building a premier multi-use resort destination in the Kansas City metropolitan area.

“With more than 4,6 million sqm of development underway worldwide, our company is uniquely qualified to take on the important challenge of expanding Wyandotte County’s already burgeoning tourism infrastructure,” the statement said.

“Whether it is The Venetian in Las Vegas or any of our other developments, we have clearly demonstrated that our ability to conceive, build, and operate world-class destination resorts is incomparable on an international level,” it added.

The firm said it is confident that its proposal will stimulate increased tourism and become the type of landmark development that will make the entire Sunflower State proud. It also affirms that, in addition to its financial and development capabilities, it is proud on its commitment to being active community partners in each community in which it operates.
