Gaming union head for Argentina meeting

The Regional director for UNI Americas Gaming Global Union has invited local gaming industry advocate Cindy Gibbs-Nicholas to attend its Gaming Global Seminar in Argentina between September 4 to 6.

A statement yesterday stated Gibbs-Nicholas will spearhead talks with leaders from the region’s gaming sector trade union organisations and will highlight problems employees in the TT gaming sector currently face.

In a letter addressed to Gibbs-Nicholas, UNI regional director Alberto Barrow said, “We would like to share with you our conviction that only if the sector’s trade unions stand together will we be able to consolidate trade unionism.

“We have started to create a sector for the Americas, where several of the region’s union organisations from the gaming and allied sectors can exchange views and experiences and find a way to take a stronger stand before multinational corporations…and find solutions to the problems endured by all the workers in our trade.”
