The Missouri Gaming Commission Wednesday handed out fines totaling USD 150,000 to five casinos for rules infractions. The infractions ranged from underpaying an advertised slot jackpot to serving alcohol to minors.

State casino regulators also settled three pending cases for a combined USD 13,500.

Casinos have 30 days to accept the fine or notify the commission it will challenge the disciplinary action at a public hearing.

Ameristar Kansas City Casino and Hotel was hit with USD 35,000 in fines, including USD 5,000 for advertising a slot machine’s top jackpot at USD 2,000 when it should have said USD 500. The casino reported its own signage error after a player in February hit the winning combination and was paid the lower amount.

Harrah’s North Kansas City Casino and Hotel was fined USD 20,000 for failing to properly secure access doors to gaming floor redemption kiosks.

Harrah’s suburban St. Louis casino faces USD 45,000 in fines, including one instance of an 18-year-old being served liquor in a casino nightclub and two cases of intoxicated players being allowed to enter the casino.

Ameristar’s suburban St. Louis casino and the Isle of Capri Casino in Boonville also were hit with multiple fines. Ameristar was fined USD 10,000 when investigators found uncanceled decks of used playing cards for sale in the casino gift shop.
