Casino Beograd Open for Business

Belgrade/Vienna, 2 July 2007 — Casinos Austria International and its project partners Club Hotel Loutraki and the State Lottery of Serbia are delighted to announce that gaming operations began as planned at Casino Beograd on Saturday, 30 June 2007.

Situated in a prominent location in the Pavilion at the Hotel Jugoslavia on the Danube Promenade, the new casino currently occupies part of what is set to become the largest gaming and entertainment venue in South East Europe. Casino Beograd will considerably expand its facilities and capacity throughout 2007 and will employ some 350 locally hired staff across its extensive gaming, food and beverage and other entertainment operations.

„We are delighted with progress to date on this project,“ said Paul Herzfeld, CEO of Casinos Austria International. „The launch of gaming operations at Casino Beograd offers the public a first taste of what to expect when the rest of this state-of-the-art complex opens later this year. Our investment in this venue reflects its potential and confirms the partners‘ total commitment to Casino Beograd,“ he added.

During the summer months, work will be completed on the additional gaming areas, ground floor Mediterranean restaurant, ultra lounge bar and multipurpose function room, the first floor Fine Dining and Asian restaurants, VIP gaming area and piano bar, as well as the top floor VIP terrace and private gaming room. The predominantly local staff will receive extensive training in all segments of the casino’s business operations, with special emphasis given to guest relations. Utmost care will also be taken to ensure any construction work does not disrupt the ongoing gaming quality and fun.

„Casino Beograd will be of great importance for the tourism industry in Serbia, and we are working closely with local and national tourist organizations to make it one of the most interesting destinations in Belgrade for national and international visitors alike,“ said Casino Director, Ivan Crossman. „When completed, Casino Beograd will be Belgrade’s most desirable entertainment venue.“
