OEG Bets on Polish Casinos

The Olympic Entertainment Group (OEG), the largest casino operator in Central Europe and the Baltic states, has acquired a 80 percent stake in Casino Polonia. Over the next two years, the group plans to invest a total of 30 million euros in Poland.

The transaction, worth 9 million euros, made OEG the owner of seven casinos in four Polish cities-Warsaw, Wroclaw, Szczecin and Gorzów Wielkopolski. At the end of April, OEG opened a brand-new Olympic Sunrise Casino in Warsaw. It is the largest casino in Poland.

„Our Olympic Sunrise Casino at the newly opened Hilton Hotel in Warsaw will, without a doubt, become the most modern entertainment facility in Poland,“ said Andrzej Sikorski, general manager of Olympic Casino Poland. The group invested a total of 7 million euros in the project. The Hilton is the newest and the most luxurious hotel in Warsaw, with the city’s largest conference and spa center.

The Olympic Sunrise Casino is more than twice as large as any other casino in Poland. It occupies an area of 1,600 square meters on three floors and offers games at 20 tables and 100 machines.

The casino is innovative in Poland in terms both size and gambling technology. Almost all the systems, from software to loyalty programs to the cash-free EZ-Pay financial operations system, are new to the Polish market.

OEG operates in Poland, Ukraine, Belarus, Lithuania, Latvia, Romania and Estonia. After the acquisition of Casino Polonia, OEG owns 103 casinos in seven countries. The company aspires to become the largest provider of casino entertainment in Central Europe, with operations in at least 10 countries by 2010.
